Great American Cleanup of PA
The Great American Cleanup of PA is an annual statewide cleanup campaign. In 2024 there were 5,518 registered events, including West Rockhill. There were 77,367 volunteers, 2,767,300 pounds of materials recycled, 3,257,920 pounds of trash including over 45,000 tires properly disposed.
Thank you to all the volunteers, businesses and organizations who helped cleanup our roadways in West Rockhill township this year. Special thanks to the volunteers who assisted in the cleanup of a 4 mile stretch of Route 309.
Continue to be a conscientious neighbor by picking up trash along your roadway throughout the year.
Have you ever considered Adopting a Highway. Families, friends, businesses, community groups make a commitment to maintain a two-mile stretch of roadway at least two to four times a year. Once the sponsor completes an application with Penn DOT (www.adoptahighway.penndot.pa.gov), the roadside litter cleanup can take place at your convenience. Penn Dot supplies the gloves, trash bags, safety vests and safety signs. Penn Dot will collect the trash bags once notified. There are many sites available in West Rockhill Township.
