The Bucks County Board of Commissioners and participating municipalities are hosting a series of Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Collection Events throughout 2025. Why Proper Disposal Matters
Common household substances like pesticides, oil-based paints, and solvents often contain chemicals that can be hazardous. Disposing of them improperly (e.g., in the trash or down the drain) may endanger sanitation workers or pollute the environment. These HHW Collection Events provide a safe, consolidated way to handle potentially harmful substances.
Who May Participate
This program is open to Bucks County residents only. It is not available to businesses, industries, or institutions. Products brought should be clearly labeled and placed in sturdy containers. If you have items you are unsure about, check their labels for words like “poisonous,” “toxic,” “flammable,” “corrosive,” or “irritant.” When in doubt, treat them as hazardous.

· All licensed trash haulers shall provide at least one collection of shrubbery, tree trimmings and similar materials per month. Collection schedules shall be distributed to the customers and the Township.
· Commercial and institutional business owners and trash haulers are required to report their recycling tonnage on a yearly basis.
· Apartment complexes or residential communities (nursing homes, condominiums, retirement communities, etc.) are required to provide a recycling program for their residents.
· No resident or business shall burn refuse, municipal waste, recyclable materials, yard waste, or leaf waste.
