West Rockhill Township was informed in November of 2016 that wells in East Rockhill Township have been found to have slightly elevated levels of PFCs (perfluorinated compounds) in the water resulting in North Penn taking one of its wells offline. After sampling private drinking water wells located within 1 mile of the North Penn Authority wells, it was discovered that additional private wells in West Rockhill contained PFCs and the investigation radius was increased to include the Bethlehem Pike and Old Mill Road area of West Rockhill Township. The investigation in ongoing.

The Pennsylvania DEP has dedicated website to posting results from the investigations and other information on PFOA and PFOS. Additional Notices are at the bottom of the page.
